When I heard about my next guest I wanted you all to meet them Michael is an autistic high school student who was tricked into thinking he had been asked to the homecoming dance and Desana is a woman who wanted to make a difference so she did. Take a look at this hi Michael I’m J and I was wondering if I can take you to homecoming sure you want to go to homecoming with me sure okay and I that Starburst one of your favorite trees so I got you Starburst [Music] [Applause] and’ll and all have all plan all right everybody put your hands together for Des and Michael okay so Des help me out yes how did you hear about what had happened to Michael my mom called me when I was on my way to one of my classes and just said I heard this horrible story about a boy who had been asked to homecoming as a prank and we later learned that his house was egged and toilet papered and that was it was just a really nasty rude prank

Reasoning Behind the Prank and Desana’s Heartfelt Gesture

How was the prank set up what did they do basically they had um eggshells at the front door um and like all the egg yolk on the on the door on the door itself and there was a letter onto the door and it had my friend’s name on it and I and this was her ammo making doing pranks we would do that to each other and so it said um if you if you if you would accept my apology would you treat me to homecoming I went to her and she said Michael I already have a date I don’t know what you’re talking about she had no idea that this prank had taken place and she was not a part oh somebody else did somebody else had done it and said it was her who had done it wow mhm so what what made want to reach out to him this is something that I’ve been doing ever when I was in high school every single girl’s Choice ask I would make sure to ask a boy from our special education program or someone who wouldn’t get asked to the dance because I think that’s a very important High School experience and that everyone deserves that and especially hearing Michael’s story bullying is not okay and I wanted to make sure that that was known wow that is so cool
